The first part describes the basic principles of various types of microtron and presents recent research into development of the machine itself. Part 2 explains how microtrons can be used as sources of neutrons and electrons, and describes the development and use of secondary beams. Part 3 is devoted to microtron applications, including materials analysis, nondestructive testing, medical diagnosis, and cancer therapy.
