It’s just absurd to know how in wrath Achilles’s ghost demanding the finest spoil of Troy, Polyxena. A marriage to death, though made herself distinguished by dying a noble death. The twist and turns of fortune made her life unbearable, leaving her no power to choose save her glorious death. 07-26

只读了Electra. 震惊于Electra一方面厌恶母亲另一方面与母亲的高度相像，但明显Cletemnestra更让人喜欢。10-07

四部剧。Andromache有些乱，从哀求转到逃亡又转到复仇，不太动人。Hecuba是复仇剧，影响太大，中世纪抄本数百部，文艺复兴时期是翻译最多、模仿最多的希腊悲剧，有一定道理。开篇就人想到Hamlet。The Supplicant Women在历史上毫无影响，也不太吸引人。只有两处值得注意。一处是Theseus与Thebes使节辩论两国政体的优劣，一处是Evadne投入火堆，自愿殉葬。Electra情节较熟，所以惊心动魄的地方不多。02-10
