Very ambitious theme with weak and boring narration.09-15

前两章类似人类学的叙述，展现了尼日利亚部落文化和信仰，之后missionary和district commission的进入，不能简单地解读为文化或者信仰的冲突，也不能仅仅说是tradition和西方文明或者现代的冲突。Okonkwo像极了Aristotle的tragic hero，他的死和结尾也是值得仔细再分析解读。集会时，Okonkwo选择刺杀messager是一时兴起，还是深思后的结果。他的自杀是处于对于未来的绝望还是出于保护部族。things fall apart，瓦解的是什么，这种瓦解本身是否有好坏，还是其本身就是一个不可避免地历史进程，即使说没有missionary和殖民势力的进入。如何坚持对于tradition的保持也是值得思考。08-21
