确实长，字小行密且厚，但看起来挺爽的。很流畅。里面日本男主后来是三船敏郎演的。故事很好看，文化差异和人物个性虽然有不少，怎么说，商业化的类型感，但整体人物塑造都很有意思。07-12

有点像日本版的《基督山伯爵》，读了20%，觉得作者主要是用西方人视角看日本和亚洲文化，所以欧美读者都很喜欢，但是我读的时候体会到了一种淡淡的condescending arrogance from the black ship people， 遂弃之。02-01

A bit wordy but still one of the most marvelous stories ever written. Have to admit that I was intimated by its size but once you dive into it, something just grasp you and draw you into this great adventure till it quietly ends. My very first James Clavell. Stereotypical but in a good way.06-29
